Lorena ISD is excited to announce the hiring of Kelly Tharpe as our new Director of Safety and Support Services. As Director, Mr. Tharpe will oversee and facilitate district protocols, processes, and personnel in the areas of district safety, transportation, facilities, food services, and health services.
Kelly Tharpe is an accomplished leader with experience in public education that spans more than two decades. He has served as a classroom teacher, coach, assistant principal, and principal. Most recently, he has served as an Assistant Superintendent at McGregor ISD. With certifications in Physical Education, Special Education, the Principalship, and the Superintendent, Mr. Tharpe brings extensive experience to this new role in Lorena.
Throughout his career, Mr. Tharpe has exemplified a passion for education and a steadfast dedication to enhancing learning experiences for all students. He has demonstrated a commitment to student development and success, fostered a collaborative school culture, and supported his students in all of their extracurricular endeavors. In 2022, Mr. Tharpe joined the Central Office team at McGregor as an Assistant Superintendent. In two short years, he proved instrumental in overseeing district-wide operations and strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing educational excellence and administrative efficiency.
