*Please note that this plan is subject to change if and when guidelines change. We are committed to updating you as soon as possible when changes are made.*

Lorena ISD will offer traditional, in-person instruction for the 2022-23 school year. At this time, there is no remote instructional option.

School Day Times

Primary 7:55 am - 3:35 pm

Elementary 8:00 am - 3:40 pm

Middle School 8:00 am - 3:40 pm

High School 8:00 am - 3:40 pm

Attendance/Make-up

We are following our regular school attendance health guidelines. When your student is absent for any health reason, please send a parent or doctor note to the school’s attendance clerk. If your student will be absent for an extended period of time, please contact the campus office to make arrangements for make-up work.

Campuses and staff will provide student make-up work that may be completed while in quarantine or when the student returns to school.  Students are not expected to complete work while ill.  Students shall be given at least one day for each day missed due to an absence in order to turn in make-up work; extension of the timeline is at the discretion of the teachers.

Documentation after an Absence (All Grade Levels)

When a student is absent from school, the student—upon arrival or return to school—must bring a note signed by the parent that describes the reason for the absence. A phone call from the parent may be accepted, but the district reserves the right to require a written note.

Doctor’s Note after an Absence for Illness (All Grade Levels)

Upon return to school, a student absent for more than three consecutive days because of a personal illness must bring a statement from a doctor or health clinic verifying the illness or condition that caused the student’s extended absence from school.

Students who are not at school will be counted absent.  Absences will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. However, state attendance laws are still in effect, with state-required notification letters being sent to parents/guardians.
