United States Naval Academy Summer Seminar

 The United States Naval Academy Summer Seminar offers the opportunity for high school juniors to visit the Naval Academy for one week during the summer.  Students will experience all aspects of the Naval Academy including the academic program, physical training and midshipman life.  Navy and Marine Corps officers will present exciting opportunities available to those who choose a career of naval service.  Get information and apply online at www.usna.edu between February 1 and March 31.

Bridges to College Math, Science & Engineering

 The University of Oklahoma offers a summer academy for Math, Science & Interdisciplinary Studies to high school studies who will enter their junior or senior year.  It is conducted on the campus at Norman during the week of July 20-25.  Information on website http://youth.ou.edu

 Baylor University for Young People

This program provides summer enrichment classes for gifted & talented students in grades 4-12.  This commuter program consists of two, two-week sessions; classes meet 1 ½ hours per day.  Outstanding Baylor professors and other exceptional teachers conduct the classes.  Students select from courses in art, music, communications, computers, creative writing, drama, foreign languages, geology, leadership, mathematics, and social studies.  Information on website www.baylor.edu/SOE/CCLE or call 254-710-2171.

Camp Arch 2008

Texas A&M College of Architecture will be hosting “Camp ARCH” this summer from July 13-19.  The resident summer camp is designed to give young people grades 9-12 an opportunity to experience the professions of Architect, Landscape Architect, Constructor, and Visual Designer.  Participants will experience working together in a studio environment just as professionals would in a design or construction firm.  Students will be housed in dormitories and taught by faculty from the College of Architecture.
